Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a specialized area of physiotherapy that involves hands-on techniques to assess, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Neck Pain: Manual therapy techniques such as mobilizations, manipulations, and soft tissue massage are used to address neck pain, stiffness, and reduced range of motion resulting from conditions such as cervical spondylosis, whiplash injuries, and cervical radiculopathy.
  • Low Back Pain: Manual therapy interventions target low back pain caused by musculoskeletal conditions such as lumbar disc herniation, facet joint dysfunction, and lumbar spinal stenosis. Techniques may include spinal mobilizations, manipulations, and myofascial release to reduce pain and improve function.

  • Shoulder Impingement Syndrome: Manual therapy plays a role in treating shoulder impingement syndrome by addressing soft tissue restrictions, joint stiffness, and muscle imbalances contributing to shoulder pain and dysfunction. Techniques such as joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage, and shoulder mobilization with movement (MWM) are commonly used.

  • Rotator Cuff Injuries: Manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilizations, manual stretching, and soft tissue massage can help alleviate pain, improve shoulder mobility, and restore function in individuals with rotator cuff injuries, including tendonitis, tears, and impingement.
  • Knee Osteoarthritis: Manual therapy interventions aim to reduce pain and improve knee function in individuals with knee osteoarthritis by addressing joint stiffness, muscle tightness, and biomechanical imbalances. Techniques may include knee mobilizations, soft tissue massage, and patellar mobilizations.
  • Ankle Sprains: Manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilizations, manual stretching, and soft tissue massage are used to accelerate healing, reduce pain, and restore ankle range of motion and function following ankle sprains or ligament injuries.

  • Plantar Fasciitis: Manual therapy interventions focus on addressing soft tissue restrictions, joint stiffness, and muscle imbalances contributing to plantar fasciitis. Techniques such as myofascial release, joint mobilizations, and foot mobilizations aim to reduce pain and improve foot function.
